On the 12 December 2015 the 21st Conference of the Parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (CC) concluded in Paris with the adoption of the first universal agreement to combat CC. The agreement aims to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, keep global warming below 2oC and improve the world’s ability to adapt to the impacts of CC and promote climate resilience.
Nicholas Pearson Associates has a responsibility to take account of CC and its effects within project work, as we all do.
As designers we need to work towards low carbon developments, steer projects towards the most appropriate locations and think about energy and resource requirements over a project’s lifetime.
As impact assessors we seek to ensure that CC is considered across all relevant disciplines and that resilience and adaptation measures are an inherent part of a design.
As a company we review our own effects and seek to reduce our energy and resource use.
Every contribution helps.
