Professional Landscape Architect &

Landscape Graduate.

Closing Date: CLOSED

The position(s) would be based at our Bath office. We have a blended working approach which allows home working flexibility but requires office presence each week. Initial training and introduction to the company and ways of working will be in the office and involve working alongside colleagues. Regular team meetings and where relevant site visits will be a requirement of the role. We keep a happy office environment in a rural location which is close to Bristol and Bath. We have a wide variety of exciting and challenging projects and an established client base.

Skills and qualifications required of a CMLI and to develop as a Graduate:
  • A Degree in Landscape Architecture and a postgraduate diploma in Landscape Architecture.
  • Membership of the Landscape Institute.
  • A current, full UK driving licence and eligibility to work in the UK.
  • Excellent communication and writing skills and a willingness to learn new skills.
  • Experience and/or an interest in undertaking landscape design work at a range of scales and in a range of contexts. Hard and soft landscape design.
  • Experience and/or an interest in undertaking landscape and visual assessment, surveys and writing reports.
  • Ability to demonstrate a clear understanding of the process of progressing projects from initial site survey, through the design process, to the construction and aftercare stages.
  • An understanding of the UK planning system.
  • An appreciation of biodiversity and how ecology and landscape work together.
  • An ability to work effectively within a multi-disciplinary team environment.
  • Proficiency in the use of a range of software including AutoCAD and Microsoft Office (in a Windows based environment).
  • Willingness to learn.
Other factors which will be of benefit:
  • Access to your own car for business use
  • A CSCS card
  • Some knowledge of software packages such as QGIS, Revit, Vectorworks, SketchUp, KeySCAPE, Adobe Creative Suite, CAD Civil etc.
Employment package:

We offer in-house training so you can build up experience and skills. We offer competitive rates of pay (reflective of experience/skills, pro-rata for part-time.) We reimburse business-related expenses including travel and subsistence. We pay for travel time to site and where agreed, we offer paid overtime and TOIL for rest and recovery. Laptop / IT support are provided and a work phone will be provided if required.

Benefits for permanent staff are generous and include an established Pension Scheme; Healthcare and Insurance package; initial 22 days paid annual leave, (plus bank holidays); paid CPD opportunities (up to 5 days per year); support through Professional Training, ie P2C support working with an in-house mentor, time to attend mentor sessions and exams; regular in-house training; Packages for part-time roles would be pro-rata accordingly.

For Graduates, we also provide additional paid time to help you work on Chartership submissions and can provide you with an in-house mentor.
