Environmental Design
When requesting screening opinions, the forthcoming EIA Regulations will confirm that developers can include details of features of the proposed development envisaged to avoid or prevent what might otherwise have been significant adverse effects on the environment. These details will then be taken into account when determining whether a project requires EIA.
When appointed early in the planning and design process, we can advise clients on site constraints and opportunities and creative ways in which mitigation can be embedded into scheme designs. We are also experienced in putting together Screening Reports that provide the information LPAs need to make informed screening opinions and enable them to set out the main reasons for their conclusions.
Our experience and multidisciplinary approach can be invaluable where a project sits close to the threshold for requiring EIA. Embedding mitigation early on in the design process can avoid significant adverse effects and create better quality development.
