Planning permission approval for new ‘Urban Village’

On 22nd January 2011 Plymouth City Councillors gave unanimous approval for the outline planning application for a major development in a former Blue Circle Cement Quarry in Plymstock.  The development is set to provide around 1,680 new homes, commercial development, a primary school, high quality public open spaces and cliff face greening.

This approval is the result of over 5 years of our work, within a multi disciplinary team, on behalf of Persimmon Special Projects Western.  Work has included the preparation of environmental statements, landscape and visual assessments, management plans, involvement in public consultations and Liaison with English Heritage and the National Trust.  It is expected that engineering and remodelling work will start in about 18 months, with the first houses completed in around three years.
