We were commissioned to undertake landscape and ecological services throughout the project from the initial concept stage, as part of a competition winning entry, through the planning and implementation stages.
The site is located within a sensitive area, being partly within the Cotswold AONB and Green Belt, and adjacent to part of the Bath and Bradford-on-Avon SAC and the Combe Down and Bathampton Down Mines SSSI.
The proposals were sensitively designed to avoid or minimise landscape, visual and ecological effects. This included tree retention, restoration of part of the existing car park to open space, together with habitat enhancements in the quarry.
The proposals were consented and implemented in two phases to minimise disruption to the school.
