The development was proposed to provide a new community health facility and includes a therapy suite; minor injuries unit; radiology unit; renal unit; outpatients’ services and temporary screening facilities.

We provided landscape architectural support to the multidisciplinary team led by David Kent Architects, including our involvement at public consultation events and a presentation to the South West Design Review Panel.

The layout provides an attractive setting whilst maintaining views across the Showfield and accommodating sustainable drainage features.

The facility includes a therapy garden carefully designed in consultation with nursing staff to cater for patient needs and provide an area for quiet relaxation.

The landscape design provides well-articulated access with a clearly defined entrance courtyard. Planting proposals were carefully considered to provide appropriate screening to existing residential areas as well as a parkland style landscape to blend with the adjacent Showfields.
