The development comprises a mix of dwellings, a shop and office units. It is set within a compact site with public open space providing multi-functional benefits for recreation, habitat enhancements and sustainable drainage features.
The site includes a significant change of level, together with a number of mature trees which provide a framing landscape for the development.
As part of a multi-disciplinary team, we undertook landscape and visual appraisals and assessments, and provided strategic and detailed landscape designs taking the project through the planning process. Key issues included the design of a quality public realm which sought opportunities for using principles of ‘shared space’.
Following planning consent, we provided detailed landscape design inputs for tender and construction.
