We undertook the Landscape and Visual Assessment and landscape design for the scheme, working with flood engineers Royal Haskoning DHV.
The objectives were to retain landscape character, maximise tree retention and to consider the aesthetic qualities of engineering accessories.
We prepared the landscape plan which co-ordinated environmental considerations such as ecology, arboriculture, the historic environment, landscape character and visual considerations into one plan.
This scheme is one of several projects we have worked on, in the Somerset area, including the Somerset Levels, to alleviate the effects of changing climate patterns and flooding, following heavy rainfall.
