Bridport Waste Management Centre

We acted as Lead Consultant, and in collaboration with others, we reviewed alternative sites, advised on site selection and designed and assessed the scheme.

As the scheme is located within the Dorset AONB, the objective was to design a high quality facility that would integrate within the sensitive setting and be efficient, safe and accessible for staff and visitors. Mitigation and enhancement measures were embedded into the scheme to achieve multiple benefits.

Planning permission was granted with no objections from many consultees and the facility was delivered on time and within budget.

The process of finding a suitable location for the facility took approximately 20 years. In the 1990s we worked with SITA, before Dorset County Council and later, Dorset Waste Partnership took on the client role.
