The scheme will consist of 18,000 photovoltaic panels and 4 units to house the equipment required to convert the output into usable power.

The location is largely screened by topography and vegetation and the retention of existing field boundaries and hedgerows maintains the wider landscape pattern. The fields will be grazed by livestock during the operational life of the scheme.

We advised on the location and design of the scheme within the Park Grounds land ownership, working closely with the Council landscape officer, and undertook the Landscape and Visual Impact Assessment on behalf of Earthworm Energy Limited.

Although the scheme did not require an Environmental Impact Assessment, a cumulative impact assessment was undertaken as the scheme had the potential to form a component part of an incremental change to the landscape caused by other solar farm developments.
